Photographs

Long time no see mates!

As you have seen or see that I failed the advent calendar..':D
Now it's been for almost two months since my last post, but here I am again.

Today I went to take some photos, but I was quite cold beside the water so I didn't take that many photos.

Window #6

Hello mates!!:)
And happy independence day Finland, it's your 98th so far.

Today I could give you my tips for shopping presents with a student budget. :)
- look for discounts (for example 3 for 2, sale days)
- DIY if you can or want to
- try to buy present all around the year if you find something
- save money every month
- you can find unused item from secondhand store even though it can be difficult

After all many people say that presents are not important, just if you spend time with them and have fun that's the best gift. So don't worry and don't lose your hopes! :)

You can give your best tips in the comments below. :)

Window #5

Hi mates!

In today's window I'm going to talk about Christmas foods, because I'm going out to eat today.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Every year on Christmas we have tons of food, there is no exception. We have the Christmas ham, salmon, different types of casseroles like a carrot one and a swede one. Then we have two types of potatoes. We always have so many different type of dishes so I don't remember everything that we have..:D
Roasting the ham is like a tradition and when we put it into the oven it's like wow Christmas is so soon.

For dessert we have some different types of sweets. Every year we have gingerbread and these things called joulutortut, I couldn't find an English word for it. With those we usually have a dry cake and chocolate. :)

My favourites out of these are Christmas ham, salmon, mashed potato and chocolate...:)
What's your favourite?

Window #4

Hello mates!:)
In this part I'll will show you some of my favourite Christmas songs.

First the English ones.
I love Michael Bublé's voice so the most these are sang by him.

And here is some Finnish ones. :)

This one has a great music video, because it's from an animated movie.

Window #3

Hi mates! Now it's December 3rd.

This year I've thought a lot of buying a very tacky Christmas jumper. Unfortunately it's been a hard challenge with a budget under 25 euros, because I've learnt that I shouldn't buy a jumper made out of acrylic. My mom said that if they are 100% acrylic they won't last very long. But I think that they might last longer if I washed them by hand. Please leave a comment that do they last, if you have or had a 100% acrylic jumper. :)

There are some very nice ones at next.co.uk but they are, I think, between 25 and 40 GBP. I've also looked up some jumpers on amazon, but I haven't found any good yet that isn't acrylic. There is some Frozen ones that would be quite cool but I'm not sure yet. ':D

Window #2

Hi mates!

In this second window of this advent calendar we could do some Christmas cards.
Here is a few ideas for them! :)

For this red one I put stickers that says Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Then I cut like little boxes out of baize to make presents. I clued them onto the card carton and I drew the ribbon with a marker.

And here is a few other cards that I've made. Most of the time I just like to stick a bunch of stickers onto the cards..:D

Window #1

Hi mates!
Here is the first window for this advent calendar..:D

Christmas has been my favourite holiday for a very long time if not always.
When it's the end of November I usually get very excited for Christmas and start like mentally preparing for it.

This year I bought most of the presents quite early, I think it was October and early November. We celebrate the Christmas Eve with some of my relatives so there is always around 16 to 18 people and I buy presents for most of them.

I can't wait to put Christmas lights in my room even though I rarely have them on. :D
Now it's also a perfect time to light up candles. Only 23 nights till Christmas Eve, time will go fast.

I was wondering, would you like if I played or sang a Christmas song for some of this advent calendar's window?
